Frequently Asked Questions
General
What is Our Buying Club?
A community cooperative where members pool their orders to buy groceries at wholesale prices. We buy at cost and split the savings.
How does group buying work?
Members join a "pool" for a product. Once enough people join, a coordinator buys in bulk from a wholesale source and distributes to members at cost.
Who can join?
Anyone in our service area. Just register with your email and you can start joining pools immediately.
Pricing
How are prices set?
Prices reflect the actual wholesale cost plus a small operating fee to cover gas, packaging, and other expenses. There is no profit margin.
Why is it cheaper than retail?
We buy directly from wholesale sources, cutting out the retail markup. By pooling our orders, we meet minimum purchase requirements that individual families couldn't.
Ordering
How do I join a pool?
Browse open pools, click "Join," enter your quantity, and confirm. You'll be notified when the pool closes and your order is ready.
What if the pool doesn't reach the minimum?
If a pool has a hard minimum and doesn't reach it by the closing date, it's automatically cancelled and no one is charged.
Pickup
Where do I pick up?
Pickup locations are announced when the pool closes. They're typically a coordinator's home or a community space in your area.
Can someone else pick up for me?
Yes! Just let the coordinator know who will be picking up on your behalf.
Payment
How do I pay?
Payment methods vary by club — typically cash, Zelle, or Venmo. The coordinator will let you know the accepted methods.
When do I pay?
You pay after the final price is confirmed — usually at or before pickup. You're never charged until the purchase is complete.
Privacy
What data do you collect?
Only what's needed: name, email, phone, and neighborhood. We never collect SSN, government ID, or immigration status. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Go to your Account page and delete your account. Your personal data is removed immediately. Financial records are kept anonymized for accounting purposes.
